What is labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty is somewhat of a misnomer. The term would indicate a plastic surgery repair of the labia, which would affect function. In fact, a labiaplasty is more of a reduction or resculpting of the inner and/or outer labia. There isn’t a single method for performing a labiaplasty. Instead, a more holistic approach is applied, taking into consideration all of the physical and aesthetic aspects of the woman’s vaginal region.

Where is the labiaplasty procedure performed?
Dr. Scheinberg performs labiaplasty and vaginal rejuvenation procedures at ParkCreek Outpatient Surgery Center, which is located about 40 miles south of Palm Beach in Florida. This state-of-the-art, award-winning surgical center is licensed in the State of Florida and home to a medical staff highly trained in a variety of specialties.
What’s the difference between labiaplasty and vaginal rejuvenation?
Labiaplasty is more of a cosmetic procedure to enhance the appearance of the labia minor or majora. Vaginal rejuvenation, on the other hand, is a plastic repair of the vagina to improve its tone and/or tightness. Generally, the goal in vaginal rejuvenation is to improve sensation during sexual activity.
How are these procedures performed?
Dr. Scheinberg is trained in a variety of techniques. Which one he uses will be specific to your condition and goals. Often, he’ll use a laser. In other cases, plastic surgery may be necessary. The first step is to meet with Dr. Scheinberg to discuss your situation and find out which procedures are right for you.
How much downtime should I expect?
In general, when you return to normal activity will depend on your lifestyle and the type of work you do. Most patients can return to work within 5-7 days.
